MY TEACHING STYLE

I try not to cover information in my class, but rather, to help my students uncover information. My teaching style is very student-driven and I try to always have students working towards a larger goal. I am a "Big Picture" kind of teacher, and greatly value the connections I can make between classroom materials and my students' day-to-day lives.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I am twice published and have had one of my units presented at several social studies conferences, including to the National Council for Social Studies. This particular unit was created by myself and a group of colleagues, and is available free of charge for educators! Additionally, I was/am a member of several national honor societies, including Delta Epsilon Sigma (National Scholastic Honor Society), Phi Alpha Theta (National History Honor Society), and Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education).

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Adolescent Social Studies Education and Special Education. I graduated college with a 4.0 GPA.
