I'm a special education teacher for the last 13 years. I taught in New York City for 3 years before moving to Long Island once I got married. I've been with my district for ten years. Most of my teaching has been in 4th. grade but I've also taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. grade. I've taught in a variety of settings, small class with a 12:1 ratio, an integrated co-teaching classroom and most recently a resource room.
I believe that every child can learn once given the opportunity and means to do so. Teachers are intended to be the facilitator of this learning for all students. I believe children crave structure and routine and thrive in this type of setting. I truly love what I do and enjoy watching kids learn and grow everyday.

I attended St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn, NY from 1996-2000. I graduated with a dual certification BA in Special Education and Elementary Education. I completed my Masters Degree at Queens College in NY in 2004. I received my Masters in Literacy Specialist. I have since earned 30 credits above my MA in various coursework for professional development.
I'm a teacher, mom and wife. I have 3 children who keep me very busy! They are 6 yrs. old, 3 yrs. old and 15 months. When I'm not running around with those little munchkins (when is that not happening?), I enjoy reading and crafting. I spend lots of time with my large extended family.
