I have taught primary/junior for 10 years, four of which were in special education systems classes. I am currently a Learning Resource Teacher and a junior classroom teacher.
As a dedicated and resourceful teacher, I strive to create a stimulating environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking. I enjoy providing a hands-on approach to learning for my students. I feel it is important to empower children with the ability to form their own opinions, believe in their unique abilities, and develop strong character skills. I recognize that for my exceptional students to succeed I need to be aware of their learning needs and present the curriculum in a manner that not only meets their individual requirements, but also utilizes their strengths. For a child to flourish, not only do they need an inspiring environment that caters to their academic needs, but also one that is cognisant of their social and emotional needs. I believe it is essential that students feel welcome and safe in my class and have a sense of belonging within the school.
