I have 24 years of teaching experience. Starting out at the high school level, I taught English to Freshmen and Seniors. I moved down to 5th grade, and spent 16 years loving it! From there, I taught Kindergarten for two years, learning what warriors our K-Teachers are. I have landed in 2nd Grade, and am so in love with this age group. I have so much respect for the span of talents required to teach students at different ages. I am very proud to be part of an amazing group of professionals.
My main goal is to inspire my students. I love collaboration and want my students to learn how to work together to accomplish a task. At the same time, I hope to celebrate each individual success. The inquiry method has been a favorite strategy of mine, because it inspires such curiosity and interest. I love music and rhythm, movement and laughter. I also love an organized classroom that has clear direction, and expectations.
I was very excited to be voted Teacher of the Year last year by my colleagues. They are a group of amazing educators and each and every one of them deserves the same award for their diligence and passion.
