TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Hello! Welcome to my TPT page. My name is Georgie and I am the Head of Art and Design faculty at a Melbourne High School, Australia. I have been teaching all elective subjects under the banner of Visual Art, Design & Technology curriculum for six years. These subjects include visual communication design, visual art, ceramics, textiles, STEM, woodwork, printmaking, photography and digital design. Before I became a teacher I studied and worked in the field of textile design producing digital and screen printed textiles at Ink and Spindle Textile Studio. When I'm not in the classroom I am sharing my teaching experiences and resources through speaking engagements, educational conferences and through my website at www.hustleyourcreative.com

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a teacher my key goal is to facilitate students’ growth and creativity. By this I mean to create an environment that, on the one hand, is stimulating and challenging enough to confront the student with new possibilities and concepts, whilst on the other hand, provides a secure place for the student to express their ideas in their work. I teach with the premise that every student can learn and I encourage each student to know his or her value as a person. I value student relationships highly. In every teaching experience I work towards achieving positive learning outcomes.
