Like many of you, I've taught in multiple places and grade levels, and that makes me lucky! I've landed in 8th grade for past several years, and I'm really enjoying it.
Keep them moving, engaged, and thinking! I heard one time at a conference, "If your butt is getting numb, your head is getting dumb." It stuck with me (partially because of the rhyme as we know!), but I try to incorporate that into my teaching.
Like most of you here, I keep active! I've presented at national and local conferences, and I've got a few certificates and plaques along the way. My favorite awards come from the kiddos themselves. Yes, I know it's cliche, but it's so true. They are what really keep us going, aren't they?
I attended Purdue University and graduated from there with a degree in Education.
I've got four awesome kids of my own: Riley, Brayden, Olivia, and Vaughn. I've also got the best four-legged child ever, a golden retriever named Charlie. I'm lucky to be married to my best friend, Scott. He keeps me grounded when my head is in the clouds... which seems to be most of the time. :)
