I have been a 1st grade teacher for 15 years and I absolutely LOVE it. I've also been blessed to teach kindergarten, fourth, and third but first grade has my heart! I'm heavily trained and passionate about students with behavioral challenges, special needs, and students that speak other languages. I am currently working on two masters programs and hoping to enroll in a third in the spring.
My teaching style is simple....differentiate, differentiate, differentiate!!!! I am not a teacher who teaches whole group very much at all...almost every part of my kids are in leveled groups and I couldn't imagine teaching any other way.
I have had the honor of presenting at some amazing teacher workshops throughout our state and feel very blessed with the opportunities I've been given. I was also awarded Council for Exceptional Children's Teacher of the Year 2012.
Bachelor's of Science in Education from the University of Central Arkansas English to Speakers of Other Languages endorsement from John Brown University
I absolutely LOVE my job and can't think of another thing I'd rather be doing. I am obsessed with technology and find ways to use it in every aspect of my day. Currently I'm working on my class blog with my students, getting them into the routine of daily blogging and teaching them about the technological world they live in. I hope to inspire my students to dream big!
