TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have worked in education for over 30 years. I have a wide collection of experiences in education, some as a consultant, administrator, assistant professor, lecturer, and classroom teacher. I earned my PhD in curriculum and instruction from Utah State University. I love working with teachers in program improvement and helping them develop ways of reaching kids. I also love learning and finding ways to use what I learn in the classroom - getting kids excited about learning too. After 17 years, I returned to the classroom and realized how much I had missed teaching. I am excited to be where I am today!

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married to a wonderful man, Lanny, for 33 years. We have 3 children, 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 1 cat, and 6 chickens. I love playing with my grandkids, camping, scrapbooking, sewing, and crafts in general. I've been able to travel to Alaska many times and have just fallen in love it. I recently attended the Iditarod Teacher Conference in Anchorage and experienced the excitement of the Last Great Race on Earth, the Iditarod. I highly recommend this to teachers who are interested in preserving a piece of Alaskan history. I had a great time sharing everything Iditarod with my second graders and they became very involved. On my "Bucket List," is to one day teach in Alaska.
