This is my 18th year in education: 1st grade (1-year) 3rd grade (in my 5th year) 4th grade (8-years) 5th grade (4-years)
My goal is to create lessons that are relevant and engaging. I believe in a balance of teaching strategies, including traditional textbooks, group research, hands-on learning, and technology.
National Board Certification (2012). Olympic Torch Bearer for 2000 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, UT; nominated by a student.
I graduated from Lewis Palmer High School in Monument, CO in 1992. After a year in Madison, SD at Dakota State University, I finished my undergraduate studies at University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO in 1997. From there, I got my Master's Degree in Administration from University of Phoenix in 2001. I continue to take the stance of a lifelong learner, and have obtained an additional 75 graduate level credits, as well as achieved National Board Certification in 2012.
I have been married to my beautiful wife for 16+ years, and we have three incredible children ages 10, 12, and 13. My wife has been able to stay home since our first child was born, and is now doing an amazing job of homeschooling them. I am involved in church activities and enjoy spending time with my family, watching and playing sports, and being involved (too involved sometimes) in several fantasy football and baseball leagues.
