Marielle P. Kokosidou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She has received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master degree in Educational Sciences, Information and Communications Technology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Marielle has ten years of experience in teaching Kindergarten and she is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. Her aim is to facilitate and promote self-learning, helping students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualization. Marielle has also participated as a lecturer in a variety of colloquiums about Early Literature, Multicultural Education, Special and Inclusive Education, New Technologies in Education and Anti-Bullying Programs in class. Nowadays, she is most likely to be caught red handed creating short imaginative stories and complementary doodles with the precious help of her little kiddos at school. Along with her love for teaching, Marielle has been experimenting with different kinds of traditional and digital media searching for a new perspective in art. Her father gave her her first paintbrush at the age of 11 months and from then on it has been the extension of herself. In 2000, she studied Fashion Design, after winning a one year scholarship, at Interstyle Fashion Center and a (side) freelance career as a graphic designer and illustrator began. Marielle is engaged in a continuing process of self-examination and her works are created out of a need for personal resolve. She does not regard herself as an artist with the typical meaning; instead she believes she is walking on a never-ending path towards art. Her creations have been featured worldwide; in books, magazines, blogs and websites related to art and design. To contact Marielle, please e-mail at info[@]imouritsa.com.
My aim is to facilitate and promote self-learning, helping students develop critical thinking skills and retain knowledge that leads to self-actualization. I am most likely to ask questions instead of providing answers to my children. I want them to develop skills to find answers and solutions through exploration. In other words, I want them to learn "how to learn" (by themselves).
