I am currently a K-5 Math Focus teacher in a Title 1 school. I design and provide targeted intervention for groups of students based on classroom data and various assessments. I also lead collaborative math planning with several grade-level teams and provide training on best math practices. This is my 16th year as a Math Focus teacher. I previously taught Pre-K and K, and taught accelerated math classes in Grades 3, 4, and 5.
I love teaching math and believe in making math relevant and interesting. I'm always looking for fun and innovative ways to foster a love of math. In my Math Lab, we use my Spiral Daily Math warm-ups, lots of hands-on manipulatives, math centers, math mats, games, task cards, and direct instruction. Oh, and lots of practice, practice, and fun!
I am a published author of 6 nonfiction science books for Grades 1-5.
