TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I love engaging providing educators with social-emotional and life-skills resources to engage multicultural urban youth populations! For nearly two decades I have worked with students and participants whose ages have ranged from nursery school through high school and young adults. This includes: court and gang-involved, LGBT. teen mothers, and special needs populations. Throughout my career I've taught, counseled, ensured supports and academic intervention services, supervised, designed curriculum, and developed programs. A few of these programs include; Advisory/ Family Group, Conflict Resolution, Managing Difficult Behaviors, life, social-emotional skills, and Rites of Passage. I've also conducted staff professional development trainings on classroom management, program development and implementation, as well as conducted trainings on various other topics.

Informed Decisions was created to provide resources for teachers and counselors working with multicultural urban youth, teens, and young adults. Culturally, racially, and developmentally appropriate materials can be used to engage, educate, guide, and inspire our young people.
