TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an elementary teacher for 21 years. I started my career teaching kindergarten and then moved into 2nd and 3rd grades. I fell in love with the idea of multi-age teaching and started a 4/5/6 multi-age class at my school. Students would start with me in 4th grade and then continue with me through 6th. It was a fantastic experience that lasted about 5 years. I loved the relationships that I made with my students and their families over the 3-year span they were with me. We phased the multi-age out due to increasing class size, and I have been teaching 6th grade ever sense, with an occasional 5/6 combination every once in a while. I am also a Gifted and Talented Trainer for my school district

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a Blended Learning teacher, I love the flexible seating environment I have created in my classroom. We are also a 1-1 device district so all of my students have a Chromebook that we use consistently throughout the day. I find myself to be more of a moderator at times because my students do a decent amount of their learning from each other and the Blended Learning activities I share on Google Classroom.
