Hi, I am Danyelle Moreno. I have taught Kindergarten for 11 years. I am currently the Gifted and Talented specialist for K-2, as well as I run a STEAM lab for all 29 K-2 classrooms. In my GT role, I pull my students twice a week. Working with gifted and talented students is my passion, as I remember being pulled and being challenged. I meet all K-2 classrooms and give groups a new challenge to complete together. Students are given about 8-10 challenges a year. Including an end of the year Steam Day!
I love hands on activities that require students to use creative thinking to solve problems. I believe in giving students the tools they need to be independent thinkers and learners. In my STEAM Lab, whether they are Kinder or 2nd graders, they are given a problem to solve and must depend on their team to design, execute and improve a plan to solve the given problem.
I love hearing my students tell me that coming to my classroom is the highlight of their week!
I graduated from the University of Houston with Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and a minor in Early Childhood.
My husband and I reside in a small town outside of Houston, where we raise our 10 year old son and 11 year old daughter. When I am not working, you can find me driving one or the other to dance or baseball. My family loves to cheer on the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys! Banner Clipart by Erin Bradley Designs
