I taught world history, honors world history, and AP world history in Florida before I moved home to Pennsylvania to become a full-time mommy. On a fun note, all of the elementary school level social studies lessons have been designed and used with my own children. As the oldest grows older, more will be created.
I like students to shout out answers and questions. I like to give students the ability to learn in their comfort zone. Don't want to talk? That's fine. Don't want to work in a group? That's fine. We just need to establish ground rules. Integrating all subjects was my goal as a teacher and it is a goal as a teacher-author. It takes MUCH longer as a teacher-author but as my store grows there will be more options for integrated subjects.
New Teacher of the Year Nominee. At home, I am a self-declared Mom of the Year. : )
I received my bachelor's degree in history/political science with a minor in international relations from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. I then earned my master's degree in social studies education from the University of Central Florida. I also studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France. A prolific reader of educational articles and journals. Just because I am not in the classroom anymore doesn't mean I have no interest in my field.
I want to proudly state, that I am a small TpT shop. No assistants, no curriculum writers, no designers - all me. Support a small shop today.
