I have worked as a classroom teacher, a title I teacher, and a reading support teacher. I have been principal at elementary and middle school as well as director of early childhood services and director of instructional services. I have authored a best selling series on performance-based curriculum for Corwin Press and currently work as an educational consultant for curriculum instruction and assessment.
My teaching style focuses on actively engaging the learner, mentally and physically in real world issues, problems and events. The classroom should provide a safe environment for social interaction and academic exploration.
The schools I served as principal have received exemplary status, recognition for outstanding writing program and selection for participation in a national network. I received the Michigan Reading Association Administrator of the Year award.
