TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching middle school science for 10 years. I taught for five years in Brooklyn, New York where I taught 7th and 8th grade science. I have since moved back to my home town, Pittsburgh, and have been fortunate to work for a wonderful school teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade science. I believe it is our duty to create science learners that are eager to engage in the world around them and to strive to be their own teachers. The work and activities I create are made with the intention of keeping students engaged in meaningful work that is aligned with the NGSS.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that there are so many different ways in which students learn and I think it is important to expose students to concepts and ideas in as many ways as possible. This includes reading, writing, visuals, computer simulations, experiments, kinesthetic activities, etc.
