My name is Alex H Gómez, founder of Intercultural Productions, Bilingual (Spanish - English) producer with over 20 years experience in the film and journalism fields, and the proud founder of Intercultural Productions, a socially motivated full-service video production and multi-media company. While in Colombia, I worked as a full-time producer and documentary director at various television stations. Although my work covered diverse areas concerning the lives of Colombians, much of this work centered on Indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities in order to raise awareness about their lives, perspectives, and hopes for the future. As a result of that work I earned the title of award-winning documentary director; these projects have been shown internationally. I have also given numerous lectures at Boston universities on topics related to video production, film, and documentaries. In 2007, I founded Intercultural Productions to align my passion and primary field of video and film with the overall purpose and goal of breaking down barriers between communities worldwide, while building awareness and appreciation for diverse cultures and social issues. In the past five years I have worked closely with numerous non-profit organizations, governmental institutions, and small businesses in diverse fields such as human rights, healthcare, youth development, immigration, and other intercultural topics, helping them to create audio/visual content to gain visibility, create awareness, and develop their social media presence and identity. My overall goal is to contribute to the creation of media content that fosters positive change, promotes education, raises awareness, and inspires intercultural appreciation through valuing and celebrating human life. I hold a Bachelors Degree in Journalism and Communication from Universidad del Valle in Colombia and a Masters Degree in Communication and Education from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona in Spain. I have traveled extensively throughout North America, Latin America, Asia, and Europe for both work and pleasure.
