I have had over 33 years of teaching at the Middle/Junior High and High School level, in the Rochester City School District, located in Rochester, N.Y. I am an initial member of the Professional Practice School which trains student teachers. I was a selected member of the First Class Program which fostered the use of the Student Portfolio. I became a Mentor/Lead Teacher for the Career In Teaching Program (C.I.T.) This program gives hands on assistance to first year teachers and veteran teachers who ask for extra help.
With a certification in Special Education I understand the benefits for students to obtain lessons that fit their specific learning style. I enjoy developing lesson plans that are project based, and interact with diverse learning modalities. I create structured based settings to help studets develop independance and self help. I create lessons that promote group skills and organization.
