I have been teaching for as long as I can remember. I think my first work experience was at the age of 6 when I tackled my sister down in our room and taught her everything I knew about nocturnal animals. In terms of more formal experience, I have been teaching English since 2005. I began my work as a classroom teacher in 2008. I have taught in Bulgaria, Indonesia, Canada and now Turkey. I have worked with kids from 4 - 13 years of age, but I have to say that the most fascinating, creative and wisest kids around can usually be found in the K-1 classroom.

Troy tied his shoes today all by himself! I think that's a pretty special moment.
While getting my BA in Political Science at McGill University , I realized I was much more engaged and challenged volunteering at the daycare centre than during any of the lectures I was attending. After graduating in 2008, I went for a second Bachelor degree - this time in Education. I entered the problem-based learning cohort at UBC and loved every minute. I graduated and received my teaching certification in 2010. I am currently working on my MA in International Education from Bath University.
I'm a Canadian primary school teacher living and teaching in beautiful İstanbul, Turkey. Also, I can unicycle and my socks don't always match. My kids find both of those things fascinating.
