Holly has taught two grades, pre-kindergarten and fourth grade. She spent only one year in pre-kindergarten, before moving to fourth grade. She has been in fourth grade for four years now. She started out as a Reading and Social Studies teacher, until this year when she began teaching a Reading Intensive self-contained classroom, based on North Carolina's Read to Achieve laws. Holly met Kim during interviews at the school and begged her principal to hire Kim to be the other Reading Intensive teacher. From that moment forward they have been best friends. Kim's career began in Durham, North Carolina, and marriage brought her back to Eastern North Carolina. After working 3 years in a private school, she came back to the public schools.
We believe in engaging the whole child and doing activities that will keep them interested and learning throughout the entire lesson. We believe that teaching to each child is an important part of our career. If our children need it, we are obligated to do it....

We both attended East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. We both graduated in 2010 and got straight to work changing lives. We both graduated with honors and worked hard to learn as much as we could about teaching children.
