TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I'm a science year teacher in New Jersey who has taught middle school for 10 years. I have taught earth, life and physical science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My style of teaching varies depending on my students. I am definitely a hands-on teacher. I love doing experiments and mini projects to get my students up and interacting. Virtual labs and webquests are another great resource.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I've spent the last three years developing and implementing the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Using my knowledge of the NGSS, I wrote the K-5 curriculums for my district and co-wrote the 7th grade curriculum. I've had the opportunity to work with several NJ state educational leaders on implementing the NGSS and have presented a few workshops of my own.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a degree in Biology. I also passed the General Science 1 & 2 praxis tests, which allow me to teach all sciences. I have a Masters in Education as well.
