I love using this video as an introduction to The Crucible, but it could be used with other Puritan literature as well to give students a better understanding of the Puritan mindset. I actually love The Crucible, and I think it often gets a “bad

My students love this short story and lesson. It is an excellent tool for teaching irony and surprise endings, and it demonstrates very well that our protagonist doesn’t always have to be heroic or even likable. It also gets students to really see

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a firm believer in relevancy and fun. I try to incorporate humor when possible, and I strive to ask myself, "How would I have liked this lesson to be taught when I was in high school?" I want my students to feel comfortable, engaged, and involved.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

At my current high school, I was voted by my colleagues the "2016 Teacher of the Year." In a "Teachers Who's Who" segment for our 2016 yearbook, I was named "Most Inspiring Teacher" based on student body voting. I was greatly humbled by both honors.
