I have taught Biology I, Biology I Honors, Physical Science, and Physical Science Honors, both in public and private schools. This coming year I will be tackling AP biology! I've learned over the years that the best way we can care, love, and prepare our students for the future is to develop curriculum and resources that are clear, captivating, and challenging. This type of curriculum is what I pour my heart and soul into creating so that both my students and yours can benefit from it!
I am so enthusiastic and passionate about what I do! I teach a high-energy and fast-paced class. I love to keep kids moving and pack every second I have with them so that no time is wasted. I love to utilize inquiry-based instruction, simulations, and real world application into every lesson. I LOVE this subject, these kids, and what I get to do every day.
Every time I have a student start off the year saying "I hate science" and end the year saying "I love this class" I count as a WIN! I love seeing students have a change in heart towards this subject once they've had me! In terms of a more official honor, I was published in the American Biology Teacher journal in the April 2016 issue for my Human Impact Project so I am very excited about that honor!
