TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My sister and I are both teachers. I taught fifth grade (all subjects) for 21 years, and for the last four years I have been teaching sixth grade math. My sister taught fifth grade for one year, and has spent the last 20+ years teaching her own children at home. For a time, she worked designing interactive math lessons for mostly 6-9th graders.

MY TEACHING STYLE

We teach with a high degree of warmth and expectation. We work hard to create a caring classroom environment where we all encourage each other and feel safe to try new things, make mistakes, and learn!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Does "favorite teacher" count? If so, I have humbly received that award many times over from the best students in the world! :)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction; Teaching and Learning, Autism Spectrum Disorder Focus. My sister has a B.S. in Elementary Education.
