I am an ELA Content Specialist, providing support in English Language Arts for teachers, coaches, and principals.
I was a very candid teacher who enjoyed positive relationships with my students. I expected greatness and required much. Their workload was indicative of my expectations. Because the district's curriculum was only a frame of what was to be covered, much of what my students did was created by me. As a coach, I provide support to teachers in hopes of building their capacity, which will, in turn, increase student achievement.
My 10th grade EOC scores averaged 90% proficiency over the course of 5 years. While you do not receive honors/awards for good standardized test scores, I have received additional roles in leadership to assist other teachers who are striving for higher test scores. With respect to my seniors, each year I taught the course, the school has seen an increase in the students' ACT scores.
I am not a traditional teacher. I have a BSBA in Marketing and a Masters in Communications Management (which proves to be extremely beneficial in dealing with teenagers). My certification is in English 9-12 through a TAC. I also hold a EdS in Educational Leadership.
