Over the past seven years, I have taught in the areas of English Language Arts, Social Studies, American History, Inclusion Language Arts, and self-contained English Language Arts and Math.
As they say, "If the shoe fits..." If it works, I'll do it!
In high school, I once won a Gatorade cap contest. I got a satchel, t-shirt, handkerchief, and a giant tub of orange powdered Gatorade for my troubles.
I have a Bachelor's degree in middle childhood education with a specialization in language arts and social studies. I am currently working on my Master's degree to become a middle childhood generalist in all four core subject areas.
I am currently 33 years old, and I love teaching! It is quite simply the greatest job on this island Earth. Every single day, I strive to find new and exciting ways to reach my seventh and eighth grade students who are not the easiest audience to please. Before I begin any unit, I stop and ask myself, "How can I make this unit FUN and EXCITING?" I never allow my kids to do a single activity that I wouldn't enjoy doing myself. All of my activities try to incorporate some aspect of fun and individuality while incorporating our rigorous learning targets which come with heavy expectations.
