I have taught English, Science, Social Studies, and math to 7th-12 graders for the past 18 years. In my free time, I volunteer in a CCD classroom helping students prepare for their Confirmation exams.
I adapt to what my students need. I prepare manipulatives, powerpoints, discussions, etc. to help them understand the concepts that are essential to the curriculum.
Currently I am working with a 9th grade autistic student in algebra and world history afterschool. After creating the algebraic properties powerpoint I prepared, she understood the concepts and was able to complete her assignments with very minimal prompting!
Master's of Education in Special Education, Bachelors of Science in Social Studies Education, and mathematics certification in the state of Virginia. I am definitely a lifelong learner and take classes as often as I can.
In addition to teaching and volunteering at our Church, I volunteer for our local community theater group. My daughter's and I volunteer as often as we can, we love to give back to our community!
