I am currently a senior Education Major at DBU. I have had experience teaching in preschool, kindergarten, and 2nd grade classrooms. I am finishing my B.S. in Early childhood through 6th grade at Dallas Baptist University. I teach students reading skills such as phonics, letter recognition, and decoding. We also do science projects and number skills. I work with students from different schools and am therefore exposed to many teaching styles and academic programs. This has given me a great deal of experience. I am learning new things every day and am so excited to graduate and start my full-time teaching career.
I believe strongly in constructivist classrooms. Students need to be engaged and have opportunities for active learning. As a teacher, I view my role as a guide and facilitator of learning. My job is to guide the students in their discover and to always be observing both formatively and summatively to provide students with feedback and adapt the lessons for students' learning needs.
I have been on the President's list at my university several times. I was a member of the National Honors Society and graduated from high school with honors.
