I have been in the "education world" my entire life, watching my parents teach elementary school. I have my professional certificate in Art K-12, Comprehensive Middle Grades Science, ESE and Elementary Education K-6. I tought middle school art for 2 years (2008 - 2010), and I am currently teaching 6th grade science (2010 - present).
I love having a hands-on classroom. I also try to make my kids as independent as possible. I never do something for my students, that they can do on their own. I also believe that I am not just teaching them science but that I am also teaching them social and life skills, like organization and responsibility. I try to be extremely organized so my class has no "surprises," this helps my students be less anxious and stressed about coming to school.
I have been evaluated as highly effective for the past 2 years and was runner-up for teacher of the year last year at my current school.
I have a bachelors degree in Art History from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts, and received my professional education certificate at Pasco-Hernando Community College in Florida.
