Nine years teaching at the Middle School lever, teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Social Studies encompassing World Geography, World Cultures, and American History.
I find that simulations where the students engage in real world decision making activities are the best for me. Following that I am a fan of projects and debates.
I've survived 10 years in a low income public middle school where the staff turn over has been almost 90% and we have had over 5 different administrations.
The only one that really counts is the real world education, 10 years in public school.
If I didn't teach history I would have taught science. If I didn't become a teacher I would have joined the military. I enjoy reading and going on hikes.
