MY TEACHING STYLE

Uses differentiation, cooperative groups, and responsive classroom approaches to ensure that all students feel successful. Enjoys active classroom, where many learners are working towards understanding at the same time. Respects, and frequently applies, tried and true approaches such as quizzes, cold calling, and letter grading (why through the baby out with the bath water?)

Jay has also facilitated learning experiences for the New England Educational Opportunity Association (VT), Graham-Windam (NY), Cirque du Monde (GA), and HCC Upward Bound (IL). This 10+ years of work with a variety of students and staff from public and private institutions and well as corporate learning environments has provided a wide lens on best practices, common mistakes (to avoid), and most effective strategies.
