"I have been in education for over 10 years. The journey began with being an after school tutor in a title- I school. Since that time I have enjoyed working with highly impacted students in grades K, 1 and 2. I am currently teaching first grade and loving it! Being able to teach everyday is the ultimate gift."
I utilize in my classroom the Orton-Gillingham methodology for our systematic phonics approach. For our comprehension component I focus on the art of reciprocal teaching. I have trained in the Montessori method as well as the use of Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. All of these disciplines have helped shape the teacher that I am today.
I have been a teacher of the year nominee along with graduating magna cum laude. I was a University Marshall for UNCG. I graduated with a double major in Education and History.
Bachelor's Degree from UNCG in education and history. I am certified in the Orton-Gillingham methodology.
I am the wife of a wonderful husband named Jason and the lucky mom of the brightest four year old I know! I consider myself the blessed one!
