My Montessori journey began in my daughter Haley's Toddler Class at Chesterton Montessori School. I fell in love with the Montessori method as I volunteered in Haley's class and saw the incredible learning taking place. I did my undergraduate work at Duke University in Family and Child Psychology and did my graduate work at Indiana University in business and technology. I also taught in several Waldorf Programs and did my Waldorf Teacher Training at Arcturus in Chicago. I have lots of experience working with children with Autism and other special needs. I taught for several years at a Montessori School for children with Autism. I hold two AMS Montessori Credentials: Early Childhood (ages 2.5-6) and Infant and Toddler (Ages Birth-3). I received both credentials from the Columbus Montessori Education Center. In 2012, I completed an Orton-Gillingham certification through the Dyslexia Institute of Indiana. I founded Montessori Garden Academy in Indianapolis in 2006. I have taught at both the Infant/Toddler and 3-6 Levels at Montessori Garden Academy. I am also Montessori Garden Academy's music teacher. I am certified through MusikGarten to teach their Cycle of Seasons curriculum. I also serve as an instructor and a field consultant for The Center of Guided Studies. I enjoy teaching adults almost as much as she enjoys teaching children!
