TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I was an award-winning middle and high school English teacher for 17 years where I developed my writing program in the inner city in Cleveland and took the process down to the kindergarten level. After leaving teaching, I started my own writing company, wrote 7 writing books, and facilitated writing seminars in more than 400 schools in Ohio with great success. My writing program gives students a structure and helps them write well in state tests and for life. Test scores in the writing sections of math, reading, science, and social studies soared, as did writing scores!

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style was very creative and hands-on, as you can see by my lesson plans. I believed in modeling, modeling, and modeling!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Crystal Apple award from the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Martha Holden Jennings Award, and Teacher of the Week from Channel 8

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I attended Case Western Reserve and graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Education.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am now retired, but I want my writing program to benefit as many students as possible. It really works!
