I have been teaching Japanese for more than 35 years! I have a number of teaching kits professionally published and have presented at the State Japanese Teacher's Conference on numerous occasions. I have also been invited to make presentations at interstate conferences within Australia.
I aim to make learning Japanese enjoyable and engaging, so include many songs, games and activities. I am keenly interested in Brain Research and how this can be applied to language learning. I actively use an IWB and other technologies such as iPads to not only engage students but to also provide me with feedback on student learning, so as to plan and differentiate future instruction.
Life Member of the Japanese Association of Victoria, Australia. Australian College of Educator's Award for contribution to the teaching of Languages Other Than English.
My love for Japan and the Japanese people began when I was selected to be a Rotary Exchange Student at the age of 16. It was a life-changing experience and one for which I am most grateful!
Whilst this year I am teaching from Kindergarten to Year 6 at the Primary level, in the past I have taught up to Year 12.
