ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a wife, mother, and teacher. I have been married to my husband for 12 years, and we have a 4 year old son. They both keep me laughing and enjoying life. I have taught for 11 years, and all my years have been spent teaching 5th grade at the same school. I count it is a blessing that I work some of the most amazing teachers and friends. I am ELL certified, as well as a National Board Certified Teacher in Early and Middle Childhood: Reading and Language Arts since 2011. Over the past 4 years, our fifth grade has departmentalized, and I teach math (departmentalized), science, and small group reading. My passion is math instruction and curriculum. I have 3 years in Extending Children's Mathematics (ECM) training, as well as, 3 years in a Math and Science Partnership through the University of Arkansas. I am currently in my third and final year of a math, multi-district study session focused on building a vertical progression and grade-level progression based on ECM and CCSS standards.
