I'm a relatively newly qualified teacher from the United Kingdom. I received my first job before I graduated from University where I had the best time ever. I've recently started in a new school and from September will be teaching Year 5 children (9-10 year old) whick I think translates to 4th grade or maybe 5th grade in America.
I just love teaching - I believe it's the best job in the world! I like to learn with the children and that's why my direction always starts with them. I embrace thematic teaching - so, once we have our theme, I discuss with my kids and we create a massive map of what we could learn each subject area. The teaching (and learning) begins...
I received the 'Student of the Year' Award in the final year of my degree course at university. I also received an award for 'Excellence in Teaching' before I graduated.
Primary School -> High School (Straight A's) -> Sixth Form -> University (Honours Degree) Just though that would explain my education history better than a paragraph.
