TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a 3rd year high school journalism teacher, with a B.S. in Journalism and a minor in Sociology. I advise our student newspaper and student yearbook, and serve as an academic coach for UIL journalism events.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a very student-centered teaching style, with firm but reasonable expectations for my 9-12th graders. I believe in group participation and student-led discussions as well as teacher-centered instruction.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

My student publications have received Awards of Achievement for the past two years from the Interscholastic Press League Association. My students have been named to the Texas All-State Journalism Team and have won Tops in Texas awards from the University Interscholastic League.
