TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently have 20 years experience teaching in the same school. I started out in 1993 teaching 3rd grade. After 4 years I was also asked to teach computers and technology to the whole K-5 while continuing to teach 3rd grade part time for the next 6 years. Due to budget cuts my technology job disappeared and I decided to begin working with 5th graders which I have done ever since.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to create learners who are interested, enthusiastic, and who aren't afraid to take chances, ask questions and make mistakes. I enjoy creating project based, cooperative learning opportunities that allow students to grow and be self-sufficient, life-long learners.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I have a couple of awards for designing our school web page as well as the web page for the town of Guadalupe, Arizona.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Pima Community College Northern Arizona University Arizona State University

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy making my own technology based teaching materials to help my students understand certain curricular concepts. I especially enjoy creating PowerPoint based instructional slide shows, activities and games.
