Miriam Hendeles, MA, MT-BC has taught World and American Literature in High School for ten years. She is the author of a book on family relationships, and has published articles in various magazines on human interest topics. She is also a music therapist working with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Joan Ziff, Ed.M, is a practicing 2nd grade teacher. In the past, she worked as a resource specialist with Title I program students with learning difficulties.. Both Joan and Miriam love to collaborate on many different writing and educational projects, with TPT being their newest and exciting venture!
Both J and M listen actively to their students, assessing their needs in order to differentiate their instruction. They believe that their special education backgrounds enhance and inform their regular ed. classes.
Miriam and her colleagues have received an award at Roze Room Hospice in October 2012 for the use of music in providing relief of pain in cancer care. Awarded by the Southern California Cancer Pain Initiative (SCCPI).

Joan and Miriam are both active members of their community and enjoy writing plays together for charity groups. They also enjoy playing duets and performing in music ensembles. Joan is an accomplished cellist, and Miriam plays the piano and harp. Writing, acting and playing music are some of the forms of expression that they enjoy.
