I'm in my 17th year of teaching. I have taught 3rd grade, 6th grade World History, 6th Grade Reading and Writing, and ESL for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I have also taught an Intervention class for Tier 2 students who need help with being successful in school.
I believe in a positive learning environment. I want to show the students that learning is fun. I use a lot of technology and hands-on activities. I also like to provide them with memorable experiences because I believe that contributes to a happy and positive learning environment.
I smile when the students call me "mom" on accident because I think of them as my "kiddos". It's an honor to be their teacher. I have also served as the President for the Logan Education Association, my local division of the UEA and NEA.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with teaching minors in Psychology and English. I also have endorsements in Reading and ESL. I also have a Master's Equivalent through the Utah State Office of Education.
I am married and the mother of two wonderful children. I love to read, cook and shop in my spare time.
