I currently teach ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) to 4th and 5th grade students in the Wichita Public School District. This is my 4th year teaching specificially ESOL students targeting their language, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking needs. Before that I taught 2nd grade for two years.
Because of the experience I have with working with ESOL students I have modeled my teaching style into a very hands-on, oral and visual response. There is also differentiation, scaffolding and copperative learning going on throughout my groups and classroom.
