I am a fifth grade math and social studies teacher. I am also the fifth grade team leader and a part of the Olweus Bullying Prevention Committee. I host preservice teachers from nearby universities on a regular basis.
I strive to actively engage my students in quality classroom practices, use formative assessments to guide my instruction, plan and carry out quality activities that promote a deep understanding of the content and provide great memories for my students each day.
I was a Finalist for Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year in 2007. Additionally,I have been named a WalMart Teacher of the Year and a local Teacher of the Year. I have presented sessions at the Keystone State Reading Association, the Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference, Pennsylvania School Librarian's Conference, the Pennsylvania Governor's School for Teaching as well as at many local and regional conferences. I have published several articles in national and journals.
I have a BS in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a MEd. in Elementary Mathematics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
