I have most recently been a kindergarten teacher in a school with many ELL students. I enjoy adapting lessons to help my English language learners succeed and gain understanding of the English language.
I believe that assessing what works in the classroom is key. Some lessons just don't work well with certain kids. Some kids need something more. I believe that supplementing the curriculum with teacher made items is helpful and necessary. It is all about figuring out how to make the curriculum understandable to kids. I strive to create lessons that allow for the maximum amount of participation of students. I want students to be able to practice a lot and show their understanding in multiple ways.
