I have 25 years of experience teaching English and psychology at various levels. The focus of my career has been adult education, where I taught everything from basic English skills to advanced research, public speaking, and communiations
My teaching style varies based on the subject and the needs of the students. Student involvement and participation are always key components. Hands-on practice is utilized to reinforce learning, and one-on-one feedback and encouragement are essential.
I have been recognized with Teacher-of-the-Year awards at the local, state, and national levels.
I received my B.S. in English from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. After relocating to California, I completed the California Teacher Credential program at University of California Sacramento and was granted a Master of Education degree from University of LaVerne.
When away from academics, I love reading, cooking, tennis, and home design. My newest pursuit is golf, which is proving to be very challenging!
