I have had the honor of teaching for the last 16 years. I have taught grades four through six, both in Palo Alto, California and overseas at The International School of Brussels. I have loved every moment of my journey.
I love having students explore through experience. I feel like a constructivist approach is the most beneficial to producing students who are globally minded, life long learners. Much of my teaching, in recent years, has focused around community service.
Recently, my grade level received the Forget Me Not Award for excellence in social emotional teaching from the Cleo Eulau Center.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies, and a minor in Child Development. I earned my California clear credential in 1997. In 2009, I graduated with a Masters in Educational Administration.
Through my years as a teachers, I have been very involved in professional development. In past years I worked as a teacher research participant in the Making Thinking Visible project through Harvard University. I have set up Professional Learning Communities at my school site, and I train teachers in the use of Educational Technology.
