TEACHING EXPERIENCE

This is my 18th year teaching and I LOVE it! In addition to teaching 1st grade for 15 years, I have taught a 3/4 combo, and 5th grade. I have had experience working with newly hired teachers as a BTSA Support Provider, developing programs and experiences for gifted students as a site GATE Coordinator, developing district-wide assessments on teacher committees for reading, writing, and mathematics, and mentoring student teachers from CSUSM.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Every child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for academic growth. My lessons are engaging, interactive, and based on the Common Core Standards. I develop my lessons and materials using the five domains of language and ELD strategies to increase student learning.
