I graduated college in 2014 and I completed my student teaching in a preschool inclusion class. I dealt with many challenging behaviors in this setting. After graduating college, I became a part-time teacher's assistant, where I worked with children with varying needs. I have now been teaching Kindergarten for 2 years, and I absolutely love it! I worked in a district as a maternity leave for a year, then went on to another district where I was also a leave replacement for one year. I am now going into my third year of teaching kindergarten and I could not be more excited!
My teaching style is very student-centered, with the students being very active during learning time. I typically do a mini lesson, introducing the topic, and then I have students go off into different stations where they can practice with hands-on manipulatives. I also use Responsive Classroom as my classroom management, and it has worked very well for me!
