I have taught at a high-poverty high school in rural Pennsylvania for 7 years. During the 2017-2018 school year, I am teaching General & Inclusion Language Arts 8 and Creative Writing. I've taught a variety of core classes and electives, including Honors English 9-12, Honors Language Arts 8, Language Arts 8, Reading Strategies 7, Creative Writing 10-12, Public Speaking 10-12, Gifted Instruction 9-12, Inclusion Algebra
I prefer the teach - model - independent practice method of instruction. I prefer the students to guide each other and themselves to the answers, rather than always relying on me. My state uses the PSSA assessment, so my instruction is designed to address the Pennsylvania Common Core Standards.

I'm crazy about my son, my husband, and my cats. My students constantly make fun of me for being an unabashed nerd. On that note, I'm a proud Hufflepuff. :)
